As drivers become increasingly conscious of fuel costs and more familiar with the growing range of electric vehicles available locally, Ansa Motors has introduced a solution that sits between traditional petrol power and full electrification: the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport HEV.
At the grand unveiling, the Mitsubishi brand’s long-standing reputation was a recurring theme among attendees. Several highlighted their confidence in Mitsubishi, citing years of ownership and a belief that the brand consistently delivers vehicles that meet their everyday requirements.
The Outlander Sport HEV combines a 1.6-litre petrol engine with electric power, offering the potential for improved fuel efficiency while delivering the smooth driving characteristics associated with electric assistance. The petrol engine produces 79kW (105hp) and 134Nm, while the electric motor delivers 85kW (113hp) and 255Nm.
Designed for a variety of driving conditions, the Outlander Sport HEV features multiple drive modes, including Tarmac, Mud and Gravel. Inside the cabin, occupants are greeted by synthetic leather seating, a 12.3-inch infotainment display and an 8-inch digital driver display integrated into the dashboard.
The vehicle also brings a range of convenience features, including dual-zone climate control, a hands-free tailgate and a cooled console box.
Safety remains a key part of the package, with six airbags, Blind Spot Warning and Forward Collision Mitigation among the vehicle’s safety technologies.
The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport HEV represents an interesting addition to the local market, particularly for drivers looking to move away from conventional petrol only vehicles but who may not yet be ready to make the transition to a fully electric vehicle.
