Just over a year ago, Ansa Motors brought the Proton brand to Trinidad and Tobago with the launch of the X50 and X90. Fast forward to today, and the lineup has grown with the exciting debut of Proton’s first fully electric vehicle, the e.Mas 7.
This marks a major step forward, not just for the brand, but for the local EV landscape. Ansa Motors is backing the e.Mas 7 with a solid support package: a 6-year/150,000km basic warranty and an 8-year/160,000km specific warranty.
In terms of performance, the e.Mas 7 is no slouch. It produces 214 horsepower (160kW) and 320Nm of torque, sprinting from 0 to 100km/h in just 7.1 seconds, impressive for a practical family EV.
Underpinning this performance is the AEGIS Short Blade Battery, paired with a Cell-to-Body design. This means the battery is integrated directly into the car’s chassis, which improves rigidity. Driving range of the e.Mas 7 is over 400km on a full charge.
Design-wise, the e.Mas 7 stands out. Sleek lines, full-length LED tail lights, and pop-out door handles give it a modern, premium feel. It sits confidently on stylish 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside is where things get even more interesting. The cabin is spacious, tech-forward, and focused on comfort. There’s a surprising level of practicality too, with 33 storage compartments thoughtfully placed throughout. You’ll also find headrest-integrated speakers, a Flyme sound system, ambient lighting, a wireless charging pad, and powered ventilated leatherette seats.
The tech doesn’t stop there. The e.Mas 7 features a 10.2-inch fully digital instrument cluster alongside a crisp 15.4-inch 2.5K touchscreen infotainment display. When it comes to driver assistance and safety features, there’s an abundance, too many to name, but certainly enough to provide peace of mind behind the wheel.
All in all, the Proton e.Mas 7 is a bold and exciting addition to the local EV market. With its stylish looks, solid range, and tech-loaded interior, it’s a compelling choice for anyone looking to make the switch to electric.
